History
Kim Gearns has been involved with the Farmington Hills Youth Theatre for over 19 years. In 2016, when Farmington Hills Youth Theatre was looking for a new partner for their youth program, Kim and a great group of theater professionals formed In The Mitten Productions. Since then, ITMP has grown to produce 40 productions in the cities of Farmington Hills and Novi, including several virtual productions during the pandemic, and employs over 25 experienced crew members. ITMP added summer camps in 2018 and added individual voice lessons to our roster in 2022, and continue to plan to create the best experiences for young performers in Metro Detroit.
Mission
The mission of In The Mitten Productions is to inspire all dreamers with unique and inspiring opportunities in theatre and the performing arts. Our goal with each program is to build confidence, educate and have fun! We believe theatre is for everyone - no matter where you come from, what you look like or how you identify. We continue to work to build inclusive and equitable opportunities for all.
