Piano lessons are the perfect option for performers looking to increase their musicality and find a new way to express themselves. We are excited that lessons will be given by the multi-talented Shelby Dragone.
Shelby began studying music at the age of seven, and never looked back! She is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University's School of Music and Dance, where she studied under Gary Pedersen, with additional instruction from Joel Schoenhals and Bing Li. With the foundation of classical training, she now often performs as a collaborative pianist in jazz, rock, or musical theater styles. Shelby has a passion for creating joy through music, increasing musical literacy, and giving young performers the tools to create, enjoy, and share the art that speaks to them.

As a Voice Teacher, Alexandra has worked extensively with Tony Award-winning Voice Teacher and Speech Therapist, Joan Lader, in the Estill Voice Training method for over 10 years. Alexandra's training and teaching focuses on proper vocal placement, clarity of sound, breath support, navigating and strengthening the chest, belt, mix, and legit voice, while also holding space for all the joy, discipline, and work ethic that comes along with taking voice lessons! In addition to advancing a student's vocal technique, Alexandra incorporates the important storytelling and acting-through-song instruction that is required to excel as a musical theater performer.

Ms. Beth is in her 19th year of teaching and has taught both Choir and Band in both Whitmore Lake and, currently, Lincoln Park Middle School. She has also worked with a variety of community theaters including ages ranging from 5 to adults as a vocal director (and often music conductor). Ms. Beth has an Education Bachelors Degree from Eastern Michigan University and a Performance Masters Degree from Indiana both in the music realm and has an additional degree in Administration as well. She has taught classical voice and musical theater students both in school and privately since 2006 with great success as shown through competitions such as Festivals and Solo & Ensemble as well as confidence and understanding shown on the individual levels of her students. In lessons, Ms. Beth focuses on three main aspects: music reading and understanding, vocal placement and production, and character building to create a well-rounded musical theatre performer. In additional to being a teacher and vocalist, Ms. Beth also plays piano and flute professionally. She has also performed herself in many shows and some favorite roles include Carmen Bernstein in Curtains, Miss Andrews in Mary Poppins, and Logainne Schwartzandgrubenierre in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
